LEARN TO SWIM CLASSES

LEVEL 1D  

Skills (Ratio 1:4)
  • Kick using a noodle for 5m with instructor assistance

  • Hold breathe and submerge underwater

  • Kick using a kickboard with instructor assistance

  • Front Glide for 3m with instructor assistance

  • Propulse through water using paddle, paddle, kick, kick, motion

  • Jump off edge of pool and propulse through water for min. 2m

  • Kangaroo Jump with instructor assistance

  • Grip on to pool edge for 10 seconds

  • Monkey along the pool edge

  • Back float with assistance for 10 seconds

  • Complete Safety Circle with assistance (Submerge to retrieve an object with assistance)

LEVEL 2d  

Skills (Ratio 1:5)
  • Kick using a kickboard for up to 25m demonstrating correct kicking technique

  • Front glide for 5m or more 

  • Freestyle using a kickboard for 25m demonstrating correct bilateral breathing technique 

  • Freestyle for up to 10m demonstrating correct bilateral breathing technique 

  • Kick on back using a kickboard for 25m demonstrating correct kicking technique

  • Backstroke on a kickboard using correct kicking technique 

  • Back glide for 5m 

  • Backstroke for up to 10m 

  • Back float unassisted for 20 seconds 

  • Introduction to diving 

  • Perform safety jump entry, roll to back float, kick on back for up to 10m

LEVEL 1 

Skills: (Ratio 1:4)
  • Kick using a noodle for at least 10m unassisted

  • Front glide unassisted for 3m

  • Complete Safety Circle (Jump in and return to pool edge without assistance)

  • Propulse through the water using paddle, paddle,kick, kick motion for 5m

  • Back float unassisted for 10 seconds

  • Kick on back using a kickboard unassisted

  • Submerge to retrieve an object unassisted

  • Monkey on wall and climb out of pool unassisted

  • Kick using a kickboard unassisted

  • Perform a safe entry into the pool unassisted

LEVEL 2  

Skills: (Ratio 1:5)
  •  Kick using a kickboard for up to 50m 

  •  Front Glide for 10m 

  •  Freestyle for 25m with limited instructor stroke   correction 

  •  Kick using a kickboard on back for up to 50m

  •  Kick on back for 25m 

  •  Back glide for 10m 

  •  Backstroke for 25m with limited instructor stroke   correction 

  •  Perform correct breaststroke kick technique 

  •  Perform supervised dive using correct technique 

LEVEL L2D

Skills: (Ratio 1:4)
  • Kick using a noodle for 25m unassisted

  • Freestyle arms using a kickboard assisted

  • Introductory Bilateral breathing technique -freestyle 

  • Kick on back using a kickboard for up to 15m unassisted

  • Back float unassisted for 10 seconds roll over and swim to pools edge 

  • Introduction to Backstroke 

  • Kick using a kickboard for up to 15m unassisted

  • Kick on a kickboard demonstrating correct kicking technique unassisted 

  • Kick on back using a kickboard demonstrating correct kicking technique 

LEVEL 3D/3  

Skills: (Ratio 1:6)
  •  Kick using a kickboard for 50m 

  •  Streamline front and back for 25m 

  •  Freestyle demonstrating correct technique for 25m 

  •  Backstroke demonstrating correct technique for 25m 

  •  Breaststroke demonstrating correct technique for 25m 

  •  Dive demonstrating correct diving technique with streamline and freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke sequence

  •  Complete introductory freestyle, backstroke, and   breaststroke drills

  • Butterfly kick for up to 25m using a kickboard or noodle.

LEVEL 3 - ALL OF THE ABOVE OVER 50M

  • Stroke correction for freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly

  • Introduction to correct pullouts and tumble turns for all 4 strokes.
