Learn to swim at Wagga Swim School

Here at Wagga Swim School, we offer a range of swimming lessons in Wagga suited to all age groups and levels. To work out what level your child is on, we will discuss their experience with you to determine their class. We offer both group and private lessons.

Mums and Bubs

Our mums n bubs program has been designed with a primary focus on water awareness and water confidence for children aged from 3 months to 3 years.

It is designed to develop each child’s water awareness skills at their own pace through relaxed submersions, water orientation , breath control, floating and propulsion activities through fun encouraging and a stimulating environment. It is also a great bonding experience between parent and child.

We provide 3 Mums n Bubs classes. 0-12 months, 12 months – 2 years & 2 years – 3 years. They are attended once per week and run for 30 minutes with a maximum of 10 in each class.

And these classes aren’t just for mums. Dads, grandparents or any other responsible person aged over 18 years may participate.

Learn to Swim Levels 1D – 1

These classes are designed for children to gain independence in the water whiles still having fun for children aged from 3 years.

It is aimed at children who have had very little experience in the water, lack confidence in or around the water or have confidence but little water skills.

We provide a gentle, safe and reassuring environment specifically designed to ensure your child is totally relaxed. Children love the fun activities in our learn to swim program and gain self confidence and personal achievement from being able to propel themselves across the pool.

These classes are attended once per week and run for 30 minutes with a maximum of 5 in each class

Learn to Stroke Levels 2D – 3

These classes are designed for children who have gained water experience and are confident in getting around the water independently and are ready to learn to stroke.

All 4 strokes are taught in these levels beginning with Freestyle, then backstroke and thirdly breaststroke. Butterfly is the last stroke and only taught once children have reached Level 3. Children also learn correct diving techniques in these levels.

Each stroke is taught broken down into 3 steps, Legs, arms and breathing techniques through challenging and fun activities.

These classes are attended once per week and run for 30 minutes with a maximum of 6 per class.

Levels 4 & 5

A strong focus is made on developing all 4 strokes effir 25 metres, squads start to develop children’s endurance capacity by working with sets of laps, whilst continuing to maintain a strong focus on efficiency.

These sessions can be attended once or twice per week and we run 45 minute and 1 hour classes with a maximum of 10 in each class.

Tailored To Suit Your Childs Needs

We can also provide one off private lessons for your child that may need help in a particular area, whether it be diving or needing some extra stroke correction for a particular stoke for an upcoming event, we can assist.

School Swimming Programs

At Wagga Swim School we cater for teaching Learn to Swim, Learn to Stroke and Stroke Correction for school groups of all ages. More information and bookings on these sessions can be made by phoning or emailing the complex.

It’s not all about the kids – we offer these programs for adults too!

Adult Swimming Lessons

If you want to learn to swim Wagga Swim School is the perfect place to do it.  Our tailored adult learn to swim lessons will give you a great start in a comfortable and patient environment.  Maybe you just want to refine your technique? We also provide stroke correction for adults. These lessons are conducted on a one to one basis and usually done during our quieter times of the day. These session can be 15 or 30 minutes.

Aqua Aerobics

If you are looking for a good all round aerobic exercise why not try aqua aerobics? The whole body gets a great workout all in less than 60 minutes.

Water acts as a cushion for the body’s weight bearing joints reducing stress on muscles, tendons and ligaments. As a result aquatic workouts are a low impact and can greatly reduce the injury and strain common to most land based exercises.

Lap Swimming

Wagga Swim School also offers lap swimming in a quiet and relaxed environment in our heated 25m pool.

School Holiday Intensive Program

We hold our school holiday intensive programs each and every school holidays. It is a fun way to entertain the kids during the holidays. It keeps them active and it is a great opportunity to reinforce what they have learnt over the term during the 5 days. For more information including times and bookings, please contact us.
